The IR Remote-Controlled Wheelchair is an innovative DIY science and engineering project that demonstrates how assistive technology can enhance mobility for individuals with physical disabilities by allowing them to control a wheelchair wirelessly using a standard infrared remote. This project integrates a wheelchair frame with two DC motors, an Arduino microcontroller, an IR receiver module, and a motor driver to respond to directional commands—such as forward, backward, left, and right—sent via IR signals from the remote. When a button on the remote is pressed, the IR sensor detects the unique signal, the Arduino decodes it, and the corresponding command is executed by the motor driver, moving the wheelchair accordingly.
